By the time we checked out and flew to Sydney…it was early evening.  Tonight we are celebrating my birthday dinner at a nice restaurant called Malaya’s (www.themalaya.com.au) on the harbor in the city.  Veronica and Pat picked us up at the airport and we went straight to the restaurant.  As we walked along the harbor, we stopped to take pictures…the sidewalks were full of people in their Halloween costumes and the lit buildings against the water made for great pics.

We found our restaurant and ordered a couple of martinis to start…the lychee martini was extremely good.  The restaurant had specialty multi-course set menus, so we picked one and enjoyed our feast.  The food was all well presented focusing on fresh seafood with a contemporary Asian twist, and served family style.  It was a bit on the pricey side of things but we’re allowed since its for a birthday celebration!

Since it was already late…and we were all stuffed, we decided to head home after walking around a bit.  Tomorrow is my actual birthday and it will be fun to celebrate in style riding bikes through downtown Sydney.
